Health Service Specialist II 1st Shift (CSU)

Job Responsibilities:

Under direct supervision, this position will perform basic care procedures for consumers in the Crisis Stabilization Unit.  Will monitor and assist consumers in daily recreational and social activities. Observes and communicates consumer behavior to Nursing staff; assists with laundry, linen changes, errands and transportation of consumers.  Responsible for ensuring security of unit during assigned shift.  Must be able to provide crisis control for consumers.  Applicants must be able to utilize proper restraint methods and protect staff and consumers in crisis situations (execute CPI Interventions).


Position Responsibilities:

We currently have an opening for 1st Shift (We just filled all 3rd shift positions)

1st Shift will work 7:00am to 3:30pm,
Monday thru Friday @ 40 hours/week; alternating weekends and holidays. (Shift Differential for Weekends)

3rd shift will work 11:00pm to 7:30
am, 8 hour days @ 40 hours/week; varying days off, alternating weekends and holidays. PLUS shift differential for evening and weekend hours

Ability to monitor and communicate consumer’s behavior

 Ability to provide simple nursing care, personal care & hygiene

 Ability to perform established treatment and programmatic activities

 Skills in Time Management



Physical Demands
 
Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop.  Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Ability to work in a stressful environment. Exposure to blood and/or body fluids. Ability to respond to emergency/crisis situations. Must have the ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer.  Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant condition caused by noise, dust, etc. Employee must be able to travel between Unison sites.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of a high school diploma or GED with experience in providing nursing type duties, and/or security.  Must be proficient with computers.  Based on Program requirements, will consider male applicants only.
