Client Support Specialist I (Oakwood)

Job Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, monitors female residents with developmental disabilities in a residential/home life environment in a 24-hour/7-day facility.  Observes, documents and reports resident behavior/progress on an ongoing basis.  Trains and assists residents in basic daily living skills; Maintains a clean, healthy and safe environment.   

Position Responsibilities:

This position will work a rotating shift and will require weekend and other non-traditional hours. 40/hrs a week


Competencies:

Ability to observe and monitor program participants’ behavior; ability to train program participants in routine daily living skills; ability to work flexible hours; ability to participate in supportive guidance.  Must be proficient with computers.

 
Physical Demands
 
Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Must have ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer.  Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Employee must be able to travel between Unison sites.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, 6 months of social service experience and must be at least 21 years old with 3 years driving experience (to transport).  C.N.A. and/or experience with home visiting and/or working with the developmentally delayed population preferred but not required. Based on Program requirements, will consider female applicants only.
