Client Support Aide - Floater (Northwood Group Home)

Job Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, will work with developmentally delayed adult males in a group home setting. This position will provide training in activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, other personal hygiene, feeding, toileting, transferring and other similar tasks. Staff will also provide social skills out in the community. This position includes staff to complete household care, such as, meal preparation, clothes laundering, bed making, housecleaning, simple home repair, yard care, and other similar tasks. This position will help with medical appointments, assisting with therapeutic exercises, and assisting with or supervising self-administration of medication or proxy care. This position requires daily documentation; individual will need to have typing skills.

Ability to provide training and/or orientation services to participants

Ability to participate in supportive guidance

Ability to work flexible hours

Proficient with computers

Physical Demands
 
Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Must have ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer.  Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Employee must be able to travel between Unison sites.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma (or GED) and valid driver’s license.   Applicant must be at least 21 years old and have three years driving experience to provide transportation.  6 months social services experience required.  CNA and related Experience preferred.
